Replacement Parts

Commissioning the manufacture of over 100 individual replacement parts to date to suit post-war Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars we are Australia’s largest independent supplier of replacement parts for these models.

Over the last ten years R.A. Chapman Automotive has invested heavily in the tooling and development costs of replacing parts for post-war Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

Our aim is to commission the manufacture of at least one part every month and thereby be able to offer the owner a replacement part at a very competitive price, to upgrade parts that have shown themselves to have a weakness or prone to needing regular replacement.

With the future availability of some parts in question R.A. Chapman Automotive will continue to invest in the tooling and production costs of manufacturing REPLACEMENT PARTS to suit these cars.

R.A. Chapman Engineering

A division of R.A. Chapman Automotive Pty. Ltd. responsible for the development and testing of performance up-grade components.

Some of these include suspension handling components for Shadow/Spirit and derivatives (up-rated springs, special shockers, up-rated sway bars and links, a superior vented drake disc for Shadow/Spirit and derivatives.

R.A. Chapman engines, a performance up-rated engine developed and tested in-house (40% torque increase 28% B.H.P increase) over the standard engine (see dyno graph).

R.A. Chapman Engine
Our aim with this engine was to improve drivability not simply to increase brake horsepower. This meant finding ways to increase torque. There are three areas where this can be achieved, improving thermal, mechanical, and volumetric efficiency.

We have performed work in all these areas with the results shown on the graph and felt on the road whilst retaining the original under bonnet appearance (no four barrel carburetors or non-original air filters) and without affecting idle quality.

R.A. Chapman Handling Kits
Our suspension components have been tried and tested over many years.

The complete package comprises of up-rated springs (each pair of springs individually rate tested, matched and tagged) up-rated front and rear sway bars, supplied with new type bearing bushes. Improved sway bar links (metal type as per later Spirit etc.) that transfer the full benefits of increased rate to the chassis. High performance shock absorbers (with increased shaft diameter, increased body wall thickness and doubled bearing area). These shockers are completely serviceable.

Of course these components can be purchased individually to suit owner’s requirements.

R.A. Chapman Vented Front Brake Discs
These discs were developed to overcome the problem of failure of the original crimped together disc due to rust. As can be seen these new discs are of a competition type design and are much stronger in their connection method. An additional benefit with these discs is that when the outside rotor wears below the minimum limit it can be replaced separately of the centre hub at great savings.
